CQFP Houses 3.3V 1553 Terminal

Nov. 1, 2002

The world’s first 3.3V fully integrated MIL-STD-1553 BC/RT/MT terminal is the claim made for the Mini-ACE Mark3 series, reportedly also the smallest 1553 interface terminal housed in a ceramic quad flat package (CQFP). At 0.77 sq. in., the new 1553 terminal is said to use 23% less board space than existing ceramic packages and has a profile of just 0.13''. The terminal is available in various configurations, with designers able to choose from RT-only or full BC/RT/MT functionality, a 4K x 16 or 64K x 17 memory compliment, and either a PCI or generic processor back-end interface. The Mini-ACE Mark3 can work with 8-, 16- or 32-bit processors with little or no glue logic. For more details, call Todd Decker at DATA DEVICE CORP., Bohemia, NY. (631) 567-5600 ext 7422.
