SMT Sockets Work With Radial Leaded LEDs

Aug. 1, 2000

The use of leaded LEDs in circuit boards designed for SMT devices is made possible with the SMF-HM1530 series of SMT sockets. The sockets can mount radial leaded LEDs in either a vertical or horizontal orientation. The leads of the LED are simply trimmed to the correct length and inserted into the socket after the sockets are fixed onto the pc boards. The sockets can also be ganged for multiple-unit installations. Pricing for a typical socket is approximately $0.3425 each/1,000.
