Said to look and behave like traditional radial leaded lensed LEDs, the Platypus family of SMT LEDs come equipped with 'duck feet' electrical contacts to make them surface-mountable. They are suited for use as control board indicators, moving message or RGB signs, automotive exterior body lighting flexible boards, warning and alarm lights, medical diagnostic instrument indicators, panel and board-level indicators, and LCD backlights. Lead frame, proprietary die and wire bonding techniques and precision epoxy resin castings are employed in making the LEDs, which are offered in styles from T-1 (3 mm dia.) to T-2.5 (8 mm dia.) in a total of seven different sizes. Color choices include ultra-high-output yellow, orange, green, red, white, and RGB. Samples are available. Pricing varies depending on color, lens style, and other variables.
