Originally designed to accept 26AWG to 28AWG stranded or solid wires, the 9175 Series discrete wire-to-board insulation displacement connectors (IDCs) now includes two larger components that support wire sizes from 18AWG to 24AWG (9176 Series) and 14AWG to 20AWG (9177 Series). Promising ease of assembly, the connectors are available in two- and three-position versions that can be end-to-end stackable to deliver the exact number of terminations necessary. In addition to standard wire gauges, the connectors support a wide range of insulation composition and diameters. The IDC 9175, 9176 and 9177 Series specify current ratings of 1A, 10A, and 15A, respectively, with corresponding stranded wire gauges of 26-28 AWG, 18-24 AWG and 14-20AWG. Other specs include a voltage rating of 125V, minimum insulation resistance of 100 MegaOhms, and a maximum termination resistance of 20 milliOhms. All three series operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +105°C. AVX CORP., Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 448-9411.
