Including all the data framing, multiplexing and demultiplexing functions required to build a complete 2.5-Gbit/s physical layer for ATM and SONET/SDH communications equipment, V-FRAME 2.5 chipsets reportedly offer the industry's first standard products to completely integrate 2.5-Gbit/s ATM over SONET at the User Network Interface and Network Node Interface levels. The 3.3V chipsets make 2.5-Gbit/s ATM a practical alternative to present and slower systems by dramatically reducing the cost, power and board space and development time required by 2.5-Gbit/s ATM line card equipment.
