Claiming the title of highest density multi-channel T1/E1 solution for voice gateway and internet access equipment, the PM4354 COMET-QUAD is a four-channel, 3.3V T1, E1 and J1 framer with an integrated line interface unit (LIU). Measuring 17 mm x 17 mm, the device is said to require half the board space of other comparable products and requires only eight chips to provide 32 T1 lines on a single board.
Ensuring interoperability of network products from multiple vendors, the PMC4351 supports both the GR-303 T1 interface standard and the V5.1/V5.2 E1 standards. It can process a GR-303 or V5 signaling channel with an integrated HDLC processor or extract up to three signaling channels per interface and route them to an external bus.
