100W Quarter Bricks Deliver High Efficiency

July 2, 2007
Standing 10.92-mm tall in a quarter-brick form factor, the UQQ family of 100W dc/dc converters provide a wide input range from 9V to 36V and deliver fixed-output ranges of 3.3V/25A, 5V/20A, 12V/8A, 15V/7A, and 24V/4A depending on the model. Each

Each includes a basic grade I/O isolation voltage of 2.25 kV. Planar magnetics combined with multi-layer copper PC boards and synchronous rectifier topology enable efficiencies up to 91%. Other shared features include under- and over-voltage shutdown, a positive or negative logic-compatible remote on/off control, sense feedback to minimize IR-line drop losses, and a wide output voltage trim input to adjust accuracy. An optional baseplate allows operation at temperatures to +105°C at full power. Estimated MTBF exceeds five million hours. Pricing begins at $86 each/100. C&D TECHNOLOGIES INC., Mansfield, MA.
