A rugged and versatile systems platform has been designed for industrial and machine control applications in harsh environments. Suited for use in operator consoles with flat panel displays, the CyBox8 has a solid stainless steel enclosure and an intelligent environmental control system to ensure the safe operation of its 2.0 GHz Pentium-4 Celeron processor and power supply in temperatures up to 50°C. This PC integrates directly into the operator console, and its cover enclosure may be hermetically sealed against the outside environment, enabling 24/7 maintenance-free operation without the need for air filters. Hardware configuration of the CyBox8 includes two independent Ethernet interfaces to separate the machine and control networks. Other configuration items include 256 MB SDRAM, a 40 GB hard drive, dual USB 2.2, on-board 2D/3D video controller with shared memory up to 64 MB, and AC’97 audio interface. It supports all major operating systems such as Windows ME/NT/XP, Linux and Embedded Linux, OS-9 and VxWorks Tornado. Pricing starts at $995. AMERICAN ELTEC INC., Las Vegas, NV. (702) 878-4085.
