Rolling out as the company’s first embedded PCI-based, 64-bit RISC processor, the TX4939XBG-400 targets several consumer applications including IP set-top box, home gateways, and multimedia appliances. The processor employs a 90-nm process technology and a proprietary TX49/H4 400-MHz core. Peripheral support includes an 8-/16-bit local bus controller, a security engine, serial/parallel video ports, plus ATA, DDR SDRAM, NAND flash, Ethernet MAC, PCI, DMA, interrupt, and AC-link controllers. Serial and parallel ports, timers/counters, and a real-time clock with battery back up are also on board. The device provides an instruction and data cache of 32 KB each and operates on three supply voltages: 1.2V internal, 2.5V for DDR, and 3.3V for I/Os.
