Avnet's Xilinx Virtex-4 FX PCIe Development Kit (see figure) includes a PCI Express board that exposes the Virtex-4's high-speed RocketIO serial interfaces. The FPGA can drive an eight-lane PCI Express interface, two SFP module connectors, a Serial ATA host connector, a CX4 connector, a general-purpose SMA port, and 1-Gbit Ethernet. The board has 64 Mbytes of SDRAM, 16 Mbytes of flash, and platform flash configuration memory. Pricing starts at $2495.

I earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Masters in Computer Science from Rutgers University.
