The ELUM family of right-angle, illuminated pushbutton switches are available with or without LEDs, feature custom snap-on caps, and promise to eliminate the need for a separate LED and light pipe on a printed-circuit board. Reportedly, they are one of the only pushbutton switches whereby the LED travels with the actuator to ensure even light distribution. The components exhibit a 6-mm profile and are available in through-hole and surface-mount configurations. Ratings range from 0.01 mA to 250 mA and from 20 mV to 50 Vdc. Other features include a 30,000-cycle life expectancy. The latching version (push-push) performs switching functions such as mode select and power on/off while the momentary version addresses test, reset, and notification functions. Prices range from $1.24 to $1.81 each/10,000. C&K COMPONENTS, Newton, MA. (800) 635-5936.
