Two new Multifuse polymer PTC resettable fuses- the MF-MSMC190 and MF-AA- have been developed for use in cell phones and other portable products powered by batteries. Designed to facilitate automatic placement in high-volume applications, the devices provide protection from potentially damaging overcurrent conditions caused by short circuits or over-charging in battery packs.The devices reset automatically, with surface-mountable MF-MSMC190 available on tape-and-reel for placement directly onto a pc board or flex circuit and MF-AA equipped with weldable nickel terminals for attachment on top of the battery cell.
