Among the advances touted by Sniper II pc board rework system is an ability to run complex thermal profiles of a board's components, as well as precisely position and place BGA, CSP and flip-chip bumped packages onto the board. The rework station is equipped with: a vacuum Lock Board Holder for precise, repeatable placement of components; pre-heat and reflow heaters; magnification zooming capability to 109X; and the ability to process boards as large as 14" x 16". Sniper II uses X-Y-Z and Theta controls to align components to a board's land pattern, with the components automatically placed with a pneumatic drive unit. And it can be used to rework boards, as well as to populate bare boards, such as for building prototypes.
