Box-Style Film Caps Seek Apps Needing Low ESR/ESL

Applications requiring film capacitors having low ESR and ESL have new candidates for the job in the MDC and MDK series. The SMT MDCs and through-hole MDKs both are available in capacitance values above 10 µF and voltages up to 630 vdc, qualifying the new encapsulated, box-style film capacitors for use as dc input and output filters in SMPSs and dc-to-dc converters, 42V automotive systems, and telecomm line interfaces for analog and DSL systems.
