The ER900TRS transceiver module operates between 860 and 920 MHz, making it suitable for use in both the U.S. and pan-European bands. All the required communications protocols are embedded in the module’s memory, allowing OEMs to add wireless operation to their products without needing to understand radio technology. Protocols are interchanged via commands using easyRADIO software. The application ensures that the data stream from transmitter to receiver is efficiently packaged to maximize both the range and data transfer rate. Link data rate defaults to 19.2 Kb/s, but can be programmed to any rate between 2.4 Kb/s and 38.4 Kb/s. All encoding/decoding functions are also handled onboard. Available in a 9-pin SIP measuring 38 mm x 14 mm x 4 mm, the transceiver operates from 3.6V to 5.5V with power consumptions of 23 mA transmit and 17 mA receive. The module comes as part of starter kit priced at $149. SAELIG CO. INC., Pittsford, NY (585) 385-1750.
