Programmable Signal Source Spans Multiple Bands

The LO Synthesizer is a programmable signal-source board intended for testing wireless communications equipment, such as AMPS, PCS, DCS, GSM and WLAN. It is self-contained with an internal temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TXCO) frequency reference and can be serially loaded via the RS-232C port or set to a predetermined frequency at power up. The primary output can be set for output frequencies up to 2.5 GHz, while the secondary output can be set for up to 510 MHz. Spurious outputs are specified at -60 dBc maximum, and phase noise is 60 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset from the carrier, 75 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset from the carrier. In addition to test set-ups, the synthesizer can be used as a local oscillator source for single- or dual-conversion up/down converters in production communications systems.
