Designed for Pentium II PCs, the HIP6017/18/19 power ICs consist of integrated buck-converter PWM controllers and linear regulators that save motherboard space and manufacturing costs by integrating switching power supply control, linear regulation and linear control functions onto one chip. The line's flagship is the HIP6019, a four-in-one PWM controller. It combines a 5-bit DAC-programmable synchronous buck converter for powering core logic, a resistor-programmable standard buck controller for processor I/O supply, a linear regulator to power the 2.5V CPU clock, and a linear controller for the 1.5V GTL supply.
