Entering a third incarnation, the PMN and PMP series point-of-load (POL) modules enlist the latest generation of control ICs with embedded TurboTrans functionalities. Dubbed POLATM components, modules include the PMN 5118U rated at 4.5 to 5.5 Vin and 0.7 to 3.6 Vout at 30A, PMN 8118UW rated at 5.5 to 14 Vin and 0.7 to 3.6 Vout at 30A, and the PMP 5818UW with a rating of 4.5 to 14 Vin and 0.7 to 5.5 Vout at 16A. Their wide input range and fast transient response makes them suitable for use with the latest wave of high-performance DSPs and microprocessors. As a result of TurboTrans technology, the modules operate with fewer output capacitors, reducing the amount of board space required. Additionally, the modules offer a fully interoperable second source in accordance with POLATM specifications. In OEM quantities, price for the PMN is $15 and the PMP costs $10.
