With a size 30% smaller than comparable products, the Powermod PSX family of connectors is well-suited for applications where board space is at a premium and overall mating heights must be minimized. The devices can be used for power connections to embedded ac/dc power supplies or for board-to-board connections in servers, storage enclosures, and communications equipment. Target markets include telecommunications, datacom/network backbones, and data storage. The Powermod PSX series comes in either power-and-signal or power-only versions. The power contacts are rated to 60 A, and the signal contacts are rated to 1 A (in accordance with UL1977). The power-and-signal connectors provide 80 signal contacts and either two or four power contacts. The power-only versions are available with two, four, six, or eight contacts. Both versions offer male connectors in vertical and right-angle configurations and a vertical female configuration to support coplanar, backplane, or mezzanine connectors.
