Including four 200-MHz, 16-bit ADCs, the Model 7150 PMC/XMC data-converter module includes a pair of Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGAs. It connects directly to the RF or IF inputs of a communications system and assigns strategic functions to the FPGAs. One FPGA handles interface connectivity and the other performs real-time signal processing, and both FPGAs are available in different sizes and types. Another feature of the 7150 is its front-panel synchronization bus that allows users to synchronize multiple boards via a multi-pin ribbon cable to create larger multi-channel systems. Other features include three banks of DDR2 SDRAM supporting densities up to 1.5 GB. Operating-system compatibility includes Linux, Windows, and VxWorks. Pricing for the PMC version of the Model 7150 starts at $13,500. For more details, contact Mario Schiavone at PENTEK INC., Upper Saddle River, NJ. (201) 818-5900, ext. 770.
