Enlisting some FPGA muscle, the Model 7141 dual multi-band transceiver provides a complete software radio system for connection to HF or IF ports. An enhanced successor to the Model 7140 transceiver, the Model 7141 exhibits a 10-dB improvement in both SNR and SFDR figures. It accepts two full-scale analog HF or IF inputs on front-panel MMCX connectors at +10 dBm into 50 Ohms with transformer coupling into Linear Technology’s LTC2255 14-bit 125 MHz ADCs. Output samples then enter a Virtex-II Pro FPGA for signal processing or for routing to other resources. For development, the ReadyFlow board-support packages (BSPs) include flexible libraries and provide low-level access to all board hardware. Operating-system support includes Windows 2000/XP, Linux, and VxWorks. Price for the Model 7141 with FPGA is $10,995. For more details, contact Mario Schiavone at PENTEK INC., Upper Saddle River, NJ.
