One-Piece Zero Insertion Force BGA Sockets Can Be Soldered Into Position

Sept. 1, 1998

Unlike other multiple-part BGA socket assembles, the one-piece Z-LOK sockets can be soldered into position and used with all BGA types in the same manner as standard zero insertion force BGA sockets. Z-LOK sockets, which are compatible with all surface-mount techniques, allow repeated tool-free removal and insertion of new BGA-packaged processors from and to pc boards, with no solder ball damage or loss of signal. The sockets come in four BGA sizes, ranging from 21 mm to 35 mm.
