Designed as an option for the company's SIPLACE F5 component placement systems, the new gripper is designed to pick and place onto pc boards a wide range of special and odd-shaped components (OSCs) while maintaining precision and cycle time. The gripper picks components with a mechanical touching technique, using either the inside or outside surfaces of the part. It eliminates the need for special preparation for component placement, such as additional suction caps or foils to accommodate vacuum nozzles.
