A new re-rangeable submersible hydrostatic level transducer gives users the ability to turn down its full-scale output by 10 to 1. The Model 772 utilizes the latest in ASIC technology to compensate for sensor errors caused by temperature and to re-range the transducer via the attached cable. The zero and span terminal readings are adjustable at any turndown using simple re-ranging tools and Windows-based software. Re-ranging the transducer in the field is said to provide flexibility to inventory transducers locally. With level ranges up to 70m, the Model 772 is suitable for ground and surface water monitoring, down hole and shipboard use, dewatering and level control. The device has a Total Error Band specification of ±0.25% FS at 1-to-1 turndown over the operating temperature range of –20°C to +60°C. Analog outputs are 4 to 20 mA and 0 to 5 Vdc. The transducer can be furnished with welded 316 SS or titanium construction, ensuring maximum resistance to hostile liquids and gases. The cable is made with a polyurethane jacket and Kevlar members to prevent errors due to cable elongation, as well as a water block that self-seals in the event of accidental cuts. The Model 772 is compliant to EN 61000-6-4:2001 and EN 61000-6-2:2001. Pricing starts at $795. PRESSURE SYSTEMS INC., Hampton, VA. (800) 678-7226.
