Exceptional cooling capability in a small size is claimed for UltraCool IV copper pin-fin heatsinks. The sinks have footprints ranging from 0.25" to 0.75" square with overall heights ranging from 0.15" to 0.8". Providing cooling for small-sized devices, as well as for on-board sites where space for cooling purposes is limited, the cooling effectiveness of the new sinks is said to stem from an efficient physical structure and from the use of highly conductive copper. The heatsinks are offered with mechanical spring clips suitable for hi-rel applications and are also available in aluminum. COOL INNOVATIONS INC., Concord, Ontario, Canada. (905) 760-1992.
