FPD-Equipped Workstation Eyes Industrial Apps

April 1, 2000

The DisplayPac-Command is the most powerful workstation in the DisplayPac family of flat-panel computers and is designed with a 15" XGA active matrix color TFT LCD for industrial and machine control applications. Features of the Intel Celeron-based, 466-MHz system include a resistive touch-screen, integral full-function membrane keyboard, and F1-F12 keys to provide a human-machine interface. Data storage and retrieval options include a front-access 1.44-MB floppy drive for program loading, a side-access cartridge style CD-ROM, and a removable 6.4-GB hard disk drive. Optionally, a PCMCIA drive is available to allow solid-state disk operation. Front- and rear-access serial, Ethernet, keyboard and parallel ports also facilitate ease of use. For simple installation and on-site maintenance and upgrades, the entire computer housing can be detached from the front bezel using the side-mounted latches. One PCI expansion slot, one shared PCI/ISA slot, and three ISA slots provide for system expansion. The DisplayPac-Command measures 18.5" by 18" by 8" and meets NEMA 4/12, UL, CE.CSA, and FCC Class A standards. It is priced at $5895 in single quantities, and is available from stock to 30 days.
