Performing shock and vibration measurements in space-constrained applications and on small, lightweight structures, the Model 357A08 charge-mode accelerometer measures 2.8 mm x 4.1 mm x 6.9 mm and weighs just 0.006 oz. The component connect to lab-type charge amplifiers or in-line charge converters. Operational temperature range is between -73°C to 177°C, making the accelerometer suitable for use in thermal cycling and stress testing circuit boards, disk-drive mechanisms, and handheld products. The sensor is fabricated with a shear mode, piezoceramic sensing element. It delivers a 0.3 pC/g output signal with a frequency response up to 12 kHz and a resonant frequency greater than 70 kHz. Other features include a shock limit of 10 kg, a 3-56 coaxial connector, and a 10' miniature cable. For more details and price, contact PCB PIEZOTRONICS, INC., Depew, NY. (888) 684-0013.
