Enlisting an 8641 PowerPC processor with two e600 cores operating at 1 GHz, the SVME/DMV-184 VME64x 6U single-board computer (SBC) is groomed for use in harsh military and aerospace environments. It supports up to 2 GB of DDR2 SDRAM via dual 64-bit DDR2 memory controllers and provides two PMC sites, one with VITA 42.3 XMC capability, an interface personality module (IPM) site, and one compact flash site. The XMC-capable mezzanine site has an eight-lane PCIe link to the 8641 processor for multi-GB/s performance. In terms of I/O, the board comes with up to three Gigabit Ethernet ports and supports a wide range of I/O customization via the IPM, which can be configured with multi-function RS-232/-422/-485 serial ports, MIL-STD-1553, SCSI, Serial ATA, LVTTL, and differential discretes.
