PCB Mount Connectors Improve Reliability

Sept. 1, 2000

The AMPLIMITE Series 109 vertical and right angle pc-board mount connectors are standard-density, d-subminiature connectors that feature screw-machined contacts with multiple contact points. A one-piece housing made from 94V-0 rated material is said to improve reliability and also lower cost.
The connectors employ size 20, screw machined, recessed contacts and have current carrying capacity ranging from 5 A with 100% contacts loaded to 13 A for single-contact loading. Plugs and receptacles are available in shell sizes 1 through 5.
For vertical-mount connectors, prices range from $0.15 to $0.47 per line for receptacles and $0.14 to $0.34 for plugs. For right-angle, pc-board mount connectors, prices range from $0.60 to $1.10 per line for receptacles and $0.30 to $0.58 for plugs. All prices are for 500-piece quantities.
