Half-Chip Bus Converter Delivers 120 W

Nov. 18, 2008
In a surface-mount, 1/32-brick footprint, the VIB0101THJ BCM 48- to 12-V bus converter provides a 120-W output with 94.5% efficiency.

In a surface-mount, 1/32-brick footprint, the VIB0101THJ BCM 48- to 12-V bus converter provides a 120-W output with 94.5% efficiency. The component can power non-isolated point-of-load (POL) converters or perform as an isolated voltage source for ATE, server, telecom, and industrial control applications.

The converter relies on a sine amplitude converter for a high power density of 840 W per cubic inch and a half-inch square package enables a low impedance interconnect to the system board and reportedly reduces the power system volume by 75% versus similar power-level converters. Additionally, the BCM bus converter package is compatible with standard pick-and-place and surface-mount assembly processes.

Price for the VIB0101THJ is $19.85 each in OEM quantities.
