Occupying just one-third the space of typical voltage regulator modules, the Titania Series power modules are point-of-load power components designed for mid- to high-end workstations and servers, laptops and data networking applications. The compact-profile modules position power sources close to microprocessors and/or cache memory and allow for more board space for future upgrades- the latter addresses a critical issue for computer makers looking to design more power into less space in next-generation systems. The modules are designed for existing or future power architectures and incorporate a standard, low-cost, 50-pin connector that needs no special handling in assembly. The non-isolated Titania module will be available in input ratings from 3.3 vdc to 48 vdc and with outputs from 1.3 vdc to 3.5 vdc. Current ratings are from 16A to 20A, with the modules providing programmable output voltages. The modules meet VRM 8.3 output transient specifications without external output capacitors. Samples are available now.
