Cards Conform To AGP Standard

Aug. 1, 1998

Based on the Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) standard, a system motherboard and two 3D graphics cards have been developed that give graphics accelerators direct high-speed access to system memory. The P6L40-A4X motherboard takes advantage of the Pentium II processor by providing EDO/SDRAM support, Accelerated Graphics Port, 33-MHz Ultra DMA, Wake On LAN, Advanced Configuration Power Interface, and optional LAN Desk management. The motherboard operates from 233 to 300 MHz and is designed to be PC98-ready for increased system performance. Four 168-pin DIMM sockets support up to 512 MB capacity, and memory socketing accommodates 8/16/32/64/128 MB single or double sided 3.3V SDRAM or EDO memory modules. Comprehensive hardware monitoring includes fan status, CPU voltage, and system temperature. Also available are low and high end AGP video cards, the AGP 3000 and AGP 5000, with 3D Winbench 50% higher than PCI and 222, respectively.
