Permanent threads in ultra-thin aluminum or steel sheets are provided with the firm's type TSO, TSOS, and TSOA self-clinching threaded standoffs to enable stacking or spacing pc boards and other components. Upon installation in metal sheets as thin as 0.025", the self-clinching threaded standoffs are said to deliver high pushout and torque-out resistances. The standoffs install easily by inserting them into properly sized punched or drilled holes and applying sufficient squeezing force. The fastener then becomes a permanent part of the assembly with the head flush with one surface of the mounting sheet. All three fastener types come in thread sizes #2-56 through #6-32 and M2.5 through M3.5 and in varying lengths.
