Module Integrates GPS Time And Frequency

Sept. 1, 2000

The GPS-TFM GPS module is designed to easily integrate GPS time and frequency into applications such as video synchronization, cellular frequency references, E9111 time of arrival position determination, telecomm synchronization, and other applications requiring precise timing. The evaluation module acquires time and frequency from atomic clocks aboard GPS satellites with a 40-ns time accuracy and a frequency accuracy of 1 x 10-12 referenced to the universal coordinated time (UTC) international standard.
The synchronized time and frequency module delivers data over an RS-232 bus, utilizing it to accept a time comparison programming value. With a resolution of 1 ms, this pulse triggers an output pulse when the UTC time equals this time value. The module also features a 10-MHz frequency reference.
Evaluation modules are available now and are priced starting at $1,500.
