PC/104 CPU Module Operates Without A Cooling Fan

The PCM-3350 PC/104 CPU module employs a Geode GX1-300 processor that operates at up to 300 MHz, but is said to use less power than processors of comparable performance. This reduction in power allows the module to operate without the need of a fan. Additional features of the processor includes on-chip support for VGA, PCI VGA and TFT and LCD.Measuring 96 mm x 90 mm, the PCM-3350 reportedly has the performance and features of larger CPU control boards. These features include 256 KB of flash memory, support for up to 128 MB of SDRAM via a 144-pin SODIMM, and support for up to two EIDE devices with BIOS auto-detection, PIO Mode 3 or 4 transfer, and Ultra DMA33 mode. The board also supports up to two floppy-disk drives, one RS-232 and one RS-232/422/485 port, two USB 1.0 ports, LCD and flat-panel resolutions up to 1,024 x 768, and Ethernet connectivity via an Intel 82559 controller chip.
