The newest member of the SeaFire 1000 series is the SF-1004 single-board computer (SBC), which integrates Dallas Semiconductor's DS1687-5 real-time clock. This clock provides nonvolatile SRAM, time/date power-on, power-management features, and six interrupt sources. The SF-1004 is based on the Atmel AT89C51CC01 microcontroller. This board integrates a controller-area network (CAN) controller, an eight-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC), up to five pulse-width modulation (PWM) outputs, multiple 16-bit timers and counters, and a watchdog timer. The SF-1004 can be upgraded to over 256 kbytes of SRAM and 288 kbytes of flash memory. It also has up to 50 configurable I/Os and an RS-232 interface. Expansion complex programmable-logic devices (CPLDs) are included for customizing the board through ABEL, Verilog, or VHDL. Pricing starts at $125 in single-unit quantities.
