The FTR-MY series relay offers a 31% height reduction and consumes 8% less power than its predecessor, the NY. The new part, offered in a package that measures 5 mm wide by 12 mm high, occupies 100 mm2 of pc-board space to meet high-density mounting requirements. Dielectric between coil and contacts is 3000 V ac, and surge strength voltage measures 5080 V. Coils feature 110-mW sensitivity and 54-mW operating power. Contacts for the relay consist of bifurcated gold overlaid silver alloy. With a 5-A maximum switching current, the relay's contact rating is 250 V ac/30 V dc at 5 A. The part is rated for a mechanical life of 20 million operations. The relay, which comes in a 1 Form A configuration, is available for 4.5- to 24-V dc operation with a maximum switching voltage of 277 V ac, 125 V dc. The part meets UL, CSA, and IEC 61131 safety standards. It costs $1.70 each in 10,000-unit quantities.
