The 4C61A 5x86-based CPU card offers built-in SVGA/TFT LCD video that shares system memory (UMA) for minimum parts count. The built-in video supports resolutions up to 1024 by 768 by 24 bits and video memory sizes from 512 to 4096 kbits. If desired, the built-in video can be disabled, and the 4C61A can use a serial console for em-bedded applications. Both 32- and 64-Mbyte versions are available. While an external integrated development environment (IDE) interface is provided, standard I/O includes a 10/100BaseT Ethernet port, two 16C550-compatible RS-232 ports, a parallel port, two USB ports, and a PS/2 keyboard and mouse port. One of the serial ports can be configured as an RS-485 interface. The CPU card also features a watchdog timer and EEPROM setup storage. The 64-Mbyte 4C61A costs $289 each in 100-unit quantities.
