A pair of tools is available to help refine the pc-board design process with no loss of design integrity. The InterPlace tool (see photo) assists designers with interactive component placement challenges, while Parametric Constraint Solver provides thorough management of constraints related to placement, routing and CAM generation. With features such as visible placement areas and graphical design manager views that speed component placement, InterPlace is said to provide optimal component placement. Users can browse through design data in a hierarchical format, including components, nets, partitions, rooms, net classes and class-to-class data. Parametric Constraint Solver helps users govern numerous design rules that are assigned during the design and production cycle. It guides users through the placement and routing iterations. InterPlace and Parametric Constraint Solver are both native 32-bit Windows 95/NT applications.
