Board-To-Board Power Distribution Connectors Are Card-Edge Type

May 1, 1999

The Crownedge board-to-board power distribution connector uses a card-edge connector concept. In the connector, the firm's Crown Band technology is reconfigured to allow direct mating with board edge or solid bus bars for higher current. The Crownedge connector is designed to mount on a motherboard, center plane, mid-plane or directly to a bus bar. Termination can be compliant press-fit or solder tail with board edge or end-to-end mounting as required. Available in two or three position segments, each connector consists of a pair of facing contacts rated at 15A per contact. Mounting on heavy circuit board traces or bus bars allows higher currents.
