6U cPCI SBC Has 400-MHz K6-III Processor

Nov. 1, 1999

Well-suited for routing and telephony applications that can benefit from a high-performance system cache, the GW2600 6U CompactPCI single-board computer is based on AMD K6-III processors running at clock rates up to 400 MHz. The processor incorporates AMD's TriCache design and includes a full-speed, 64-kbyte L1 cache and an internal full-speed backside 256-kbyte L2 cache. In addition to the processor's internal cache, the board contains an additional 512 kbytes of L3 cache. Other features include dual 10/100Base-TX Ethernet channels, a dual Cardbus/PCMCIA interface, up to 32 Mbytes of SanDisk IDE flash drive, up to 128 Mbytes of DRAM, IDE and floppy interfaces, USB, two serial ports, a parallel port, and AT keyboard controller and PS/2 mouse port. The board supports rear-panel I/O compatible with a line of backplanes, which integrate PC peripheral connectors.
