Domes Enhance Feel In Remotes & Handhelds

Jan. 1, 2000

Designed to enhance the feel of remotes and other handheld electronic devices, F06180 6-mm tactile dome is a four-legged momentary switch contact that becomes a normally open tactile switch. These switches can be used in applications that require an extensive amount of feedback along with an attenuated contact life. The domes are small and meant for placement on PCBs using pressure sensitive tape. In a relaxed state, the switch rests on the outer rim of the primary pathway. When pushed, the center of the dome collapses and makes contact with the secondary pathway, closing the circuit. The domes can be used on single-sided boards. Standard actuation force is 180 grams.
