Designed for use in applications where complicated keyboard protocols are not required and asynchronous serial interface hardware is available, the SerialCoder serial keyboard encoder is offered as a low-power, cost-effective off-the-shelf solution. The device has a typical power consumption of less than 2 nA, typical, at 5V and 25°C.Other features of the keyboard encoder include self power management and the ability to power down should the keys be held down for an abnormally long period.
