DIP-To-SMT Socket Has Latch For DIP

Feb. 1, 2000

Securing DIPs to SMT boards is simple with the Eject-A-DIP, a rugged, solderable SMT collet socket that employs an ejector/latch mechanism to lock the DIP device firmly in place--even high vibration environments will not jar the DIP loose, it's claimed. The socket's body and latch are made of temperature resistant UL 94V-0 glass-filled 4/6 nylon that can withstand SMT soldering conditions. Eject-A-DIP's contact current rating is 3A; its insulation resistance is 10,000 Megaohms at 500 vdc; and it can withstand up to 1000VRMS. The sockets are available in several latch heights and in pin counts of 14 and 16 on 0.300 centers and 24, 28, 32 and 40 on 0.600 centers. Custom designs are also available.
