Developed for a stand-alone, hardware-based Internet-ready IC, the iChip S-7600A Software Development Kit (SDK) contains everything designers need to quickly add Internet functionality and networking ability to any project. The kit comes complete with an SDK board, DB9-DB25 modem cable and a CD-ROM containing data sheets, manuals, SDK board information, application programming interfaces in C source code and a sample program. The iChip allows web browsing, e-mail and networking to be added to consumer or commercial devices easily and inexpensively, it's claimed.
The SDK board is comprised of an ISA Bus interface and two iChip S-7600 ICs. The first is interfaced to the ISA Bus for software development on a PC and routed to a DB9 connector. The second is routed to a standard 50-pin header and mounted in a sea of holes, providing prototyping capabilities. The kit is priced at $199.
