PMC Module Combines MIL-STD-1553 And Serial Ports

The PMX1553 avionics interface module offers a combination of dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553B interface and four independent serial I/O ports on a single, conduction-cooled PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC). The full-function MIL-STD-1553 terminal includes a bus controller and remote- and monitor-terminal modes that are also fitted with 64k words of SRAM. The serial ports can be independently configured as either RS-232 or RS-422 and each port has dedicated, 64-byte FIFOs for transmit and receive to ensure reliable connections at rates up to 1.382 Mb/s. All options on the board can be selected under application software, which can be overridden by hard-wired links. Two versions are available and pricing starts at $4397 for level 1 and $5948 for level 4, with an availability of four weeks ARO for level 1 and eight weeks for level 4.
