TFT Touch-Screen Machine Has Rugged Design

April 1, 2000

The GenTouch Series is heralded as an industrial 15", wide-viewing-angle color TFT touch-screen computer. The series' standard offering includes 12.1", 14" and 15" TFT infrared touch-screen LCD at resolutions up to 1024 x 768, with viewing angles of 160° (H) and 145° (V). It is powered by a 266-MHz CPU, 32 MB of SRAM, 6.4 GB hard disk, floppy disk, mouse, and industrial keyboard. The touch-screen can be purchased separately. The systems run Windows 95/98, NT, DOS, UNIX, or OS/2 operating systems. The GenTouch 150 (15" display) measures 17.63" x 15.25" x 6.5". The Series can be ordered as a totally enclosed and sealed system. Factory hardened, the series can operate in environments where dirt, grease, grime, oil, water, dust, and heat may be present. Special sealing gaskets allows the systems to meet NEMA 4 standards. GenTouch systems support disk-on-a-chip (to 72 Mb) and are suited for embedded applications. The GenTouch 150 is priced at $6500 each. Non-standard size, color, and configuration options are available.
