The combined efforts the company and XEMICS have produced what is claimed to be a high-performance RISC and DSP solution for small-footprint applications such as medical devices, sensors, motor control, hand-held communicators, and Internet-enabled portable appliances. The FILU-50/CoolRISC is comprised of an integrated 8-bit RISC core from XEMICS and the company's 16-bit fixed-point DSP coprocessor core. It is anticipated that users of the device will develop applications entirely in "C" using an API to invoke DSP functions. Both "C" and Verilog models are provided to allow system simulation and an evaluation board is also available.
