A digital S/PDIF transmitter and D/A converter are combined in a single chip in the AK4353. This 24-bit, 96-kHz, 2-channel D/A converter with built-in digital-audio interface transmitter is capable of simultaneous stereo analog outputs along with digital output. The on-board digital data transmission circuits and 2-channel DAC both respond to 96 kHz 24-bit performance. The DIT has a built-in CS bit buffer and can be controlled by either a three-wire interface or a simple I2C interface. The DAC section uses an advanced multi-bit system and is capable of providing a dynamic range of 102 dB.
Other features include a switched capacitor filter that provides anti-jitter performance, low distortion single-ended output, channel-independent digital volume and mono mixing feature, flexible power supply voltage of 2.7V to 5.5V, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Samples are available in a 24-pin VSOP package. Pricing is $2.06 each/10,000.
