Using the Motorola MPC7400 PowerPC processor with AltiVec high-bandwidth vector technology, the PPC4 and PPC4A single-board computers are high-performance, COTS products intended for rugged, VMEbus applications with fast 83.3-MHz memory bus for transfer rates of 190 MB/s and 296 MB/s, respectively. Other features include dedicated Level 2 cache support, a range of DRAM options, a generous flash capacity, 100BaseT Ethernet support, and two PMC slots. PCI subsystem expansion is possible for air and conduction cooled applications based on the company's extensive range of PCI Mezzanine cards, including MIL-STD-1553, ATM, serial, graphics, flash, SRAM and EEPROM extensions.
